This month
Spring is finally here, time to stockup on yarns for summer knitting. New Berger de France baby books and yarn. Vogue Crochet magazine. New bags by Amy Butler and Hadaki. Yarn stands by Wool Tree Mill.
Artful Color, Mindful Knits a new book by Laura Militzer Bryant of Prism yarns is here! Finally a guide to understanding hand-dyed yarns, this pattern book gives knitters and crocheters the edge they need to stitch with confidence.
And finally the Zoom Looms from Schacht Spindle Co are here! For those of you that remember the Weavette this is for you! It is an updated version, a little loom you can carry around with you and make 4" squares. What you can do with the squares is endless and so much fun!
Swedish (Huck) Weaving Workshop
Swedish Weaving is also known as Huck Weaving or Huck Embroidery. It was popular in the late 1940’s when homemakers used embroidery floss to decorate the borders of towels. Today, you can make afghans, baby blankets, pillows, wall hangings, table linens, Tallit and more. Our teacher, Fran, has been teaching Swedish Weaving for over 10 years. In this 2 week class you will learn the basic technics for creating a one of a kind lovely heirloom.

Repair Workshop
Save your sweaters, whether they are old favorites or new projects, store bought or handmade! Learn to repair moth holes. rips and dropped stitches. Go back and fix a stitch without tearing out your work. Fix pulls, cables, and buttonholes that are too large.

Weaving: Tuesday May 7 and 21, 7:00 pm.
May 7 will focus on loop pile, rya knots, and cut wefts. Students will need a pick up stick for the cut weft technique.
May 21 will focus on project finishing.
